Hospice and Palliative Care

As one of the largest skilled nursing facilities in the country, Laguna Honda provides a place where many people complete their lives.

When that time comes, one of our responsibilities to the people we serve is to enable them to reach life’s end with as much dignity and comfort as we can provide.

Our hospice and palliative care program reduces the severity of symptoms and relieves suffering for residents who no longer desire life-prolonging interventions.

The Laguna Honda hospice is a collaboration with the Zen Hospice Project of San Francisco.  Our approach to terminal illness is to foster nurturing relationships to relieve the feeling of isolation and expand self-awareness.

By creating meaningful interaction, our hospice care helps residents feel their own worth and expand their sense of presence as they approach the end of their lives.
